The two resounding themes on television this morning was the devastation of Haiti and the relief efforts being poured into Haiti. Whether it is Japan, France, United Nations, United States, etc. all were sending money, people, supplies, etc. As I sat and watched the news of all the relief a thought kept reoccurring in my head; justice, justice, justice.
People, no matter creed, color, or culture all have a sense of Justice in the depths of their soul. Where does this all come from?
Check out Genesis 1:26, "Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness..." This verse doesn't mean that we necessarily mean we "look like God", but it does mean we share in some of his attributes. The big theological term here is communicable attritubtes or those attributes we share with God. A major one being a sense of justice.
Although this is a dark time and a time when many want to blame God for such a disaster, I want to remind us all that the desire/demand for Justice from all around the World, once again screams proof of our Creator, Jesus Christ.
